What is FameLab? (source: http://famelab.org/)
FameLab is an exciting competition to find the new voices of science and engineering across the world.
It was started in 2005 in the UK by Cheltenham Science Festival, in partnership with NESTA, and has quickly become established as a diamond model for successfully identifying, training and mentoring scientists and engineers to share their enthusiasm for their subjects with the public.
The experience has a long lasting positive impact on the participants, who go on to take part in events, present on television and radio and undertake all sorts of public activities.
FameLab is designed to inspire and motivate young scientists and engineers to actively engage with the public and stakeholders.
With a proven format, honed over many competitions in more than 15 countries, FameLab transcends cultures and languages. The robust training, coaching and recognition builds confidence and skills allowing the alumni to put into practise their skills in a wide variety of situations.
